The Federation of Tax Administrators (FTA) with the input of AICPA and other tax professional organizations has developed a Research Database Repository (RDR) that provides as complete and clear state e-file program guidance for practitioners and tax preparation software developers as possible.

The goals of this project are to provide:

• consistent and standardized information about a particular tax
• reduce uncertainty and misinterpretation by the tax practitioners about e-file regulations and requirements
• centralize state data for easier retrieval by industry
• improve compliance with electronic filing procedures
